Our Children

We offer Paediatric Occupational Therapy to infants and children through to young adulthood.We believe that every age is crucial and we can make an impact at any age.


For infants and toddlers, the importance is early intervention. We can assist in areas such as:

  • Reaching developmental milestones including crawling and walking
  • Foundation skills including crossing midline and bi lateral integration
  • Developing and increasing muscle tone
  • Developing age appropriate fine and gross motor skills
  • Making eye contact 
  • Understanding simple instructions 
  • Using simple gestures 
  • Recognising familiar people
  • Understanding simple concepts
  • Identifying and reacting age appropriately to emotions and feelings

For preschoolers it’s important to prepare them for the school life:

  • Following instructions
  • Maintaining attention and concentration
  • Engaging in imaginative and typical play
  • Interacting appropriately with peers and adults
  • Cooperate in a group setting
  • Self care skills i.e. opening lunch items, toileting and dressing
  • Fine motor activities i.e. drawing and cutting
  • gross motor activities i.e. balance and ball skills
  • Identifying and reacting appropriately to emotions and feelings
  • Understands basic social cues 
  • Engages in conversation using phrases and basic grammar
  • Understands concepts i.e. shapes, colours, alphabet 
  • Sensory processing i.e. can tolerate loud noises, playing on swings, climbing, messy play

For older kids, it’s all about school and life skills:
