Barbara’s love of children has guided her career in Speech Pathology for several decades. She began her professional journey working in a Community Health Centre in the 1980s before opening her own private practice, which she successfully ran for 35 years while raising her family.

Alongside managing her private practice, Barbara worked for over a decade within a primary school setting, supporting children from preschool through to Year 6. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the educational environment and the communication demands children face both academically and socially.

Barbara has extensive experience working with children with speech clarity, language, literacy and fluency difficulties. She is passionate about helping each child reach their personal potential and places strong emphasis on practical, meaningful strategies that can be used consistently across home and school settings. Barbara also enjoys mentoring staff and guiding teachers, parents and families to confidently support their child’s communication and learning development.

Barbara values collaborative practice and believes working alongside other professionals, including Occupational Therapists at Kids First Therapy Hub, is key to building strong foundations for children. She feels privileged to be part of a dedicated team working closely with families to support each child’s unique journey.

Clinic Availability

Barbara offers clinic-based Speech Pathology sessions at our Edgecliff office on Tuesdays.
