Bachelor of Psychological Science and Masters in Occupational Therapy Practice - La Trobe University, Melbourne

Amparo is a friendly and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who enjoys supporting children and young people to meet their therapy goals. She uses a strengths based approach and understands that therapy can be delivered in a variety of ways through individualised programs, group programs and home therapy programs. She strongly values the role of parents and carers and incorporates them in therapy sessions as much as possible. 

Amparo brings with her a range of therapeutic skills, having worked across the mental health and disability sector. She enjoys supporting children and young people to make meaningful progress across a range of areas, such as fine motor, self-care skills, social skills, emotion regulation skills, toileting and community engagement skills. Amparo is experienced in equipment prescription and assistive technology prescription. She recently presented at VISCON 2025 regarding the use of adaptive technology to improve outcomes during fine motor and self-care tasks. 

Amparo is committed to on-going professional development and has completed a range of courses including SOS Approach to Feeding, Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - Second Edition (ADOS-2), The Alert Program for Self-Regulation, DIR Floor time, Traffic Jam in My Brain and Circle of Security. 

Amparo has recently relocated to Sydney from Brisbane and is enjoying getting to know her new city. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, baking and exploring the beautiful parks and beaches of Sydney.
